Hi all Just a reminder for those that are members of the UK ORCID Consortium but don’t necessarily stay abreast of other channels. Best Adam Dr Adam Vials Moore (@adam__moore) Product Specialist – Persistent Identifiers (@ukpids) UK ORCID community support Jisc ORCID Consortium Helpdesk:
help@jisc.ac.uk The next Birds of a Feather will be for Eprints and will be held on Thursday 2nd September 10.00 to 11.00 Thanks to all those who indicated availability in Teams, we hope you can still make it, and please do invite any colleagues who would benefit from attending (they do not need to be a member of Teams, we can arrange a link for them to join the meeting). The BoF is planned as participant-driven event so the proposed agenda is: 10.00 - 10.10 Welcome and Introductions (round table)
10.10 - 10.20 Q and A
A chance to ask service providers any questions and find out from peers how they are using the eprints advance plug in
10.20 - 10.30 Requests for future features in eprints
10.30 - 10.40 Any Other Hot Topics
10.40 - 10.50 Open Discussion: how do we make it happen?
10.50 - 11.00 AOB and close You can add topic suggestions to the agenda (access to Team community space is needed) I will update the agenda with topics already suggested in the chat over the next couple of days if its not already updated. The meeting will be held in Teams – we can arrange invites to the meeting for anyone who is not eligible as a member of the Teams space. Please get in touch using help@jisc.ac.uk and requesting ‘Access to ORCID Teams space’ if you have not yet joined our new Community Space or if you have any difficulties getting access or need any help. Some notes on the meeting which we will remind you of closer to the date: Meeting is set to record by default – this is to ensure that we can catch up on any notes / actions etc If all participants agree, and it is thought useful, we will release a recording of the event afterwards The best way to join is to go into Jisc Teams -> UK ORCID Community Space, go to the ePrints section and click on the meeting and then “join”. There have been some issues with joining outside of the Jisc teams site – most notably with access to chat There is a space at the bottom for attendee details – feel free to add yourself ahead of the meeting. Or not. All details are optional and again it’s up to you how much information you’re willing to share. This information won’t be shared publicly but will remain in the teams folder and can be used to update people on any items discussed. The usual, mandatory reminder – access is via UKORCID Community Space Teams site – please contact us via help@jisc.ac.uk if you have issues accessing or want to join. Best wishes, Monica From: ORCID members UK <ORCID-UK@JISCMAIL.AC.UK>
On Behalf Of Monica Duke Hi Everyone!
The next UK ORCID Community Birds of a Feather being planned is for eprints and includes planning for future features, Q&A, hot topics from the community and then open discussion. We are pleased to have at least one eprints service
provider joining us so far. The BoF will be run inside the Members Teams site, so don’t forget to join if you’re eligible! If you didn’t get the link, just drop a line to help@jisc.ac.uk
Please indicate your availability for the proposed date of Thursday 2nd September, add any questions or hot topics to be discussed in the poll comments - check out the eprints channel in the Teams area, turn on notifications
for that channel to stay up to date, and we look forward to a productive event!
For anyone who would like to join the BoF but is unsure about eligibility to join the Teams site, please get in touch to discuss. We can open up invites to the meeting on a case by case basis.
