Re: [EP-tech] Digital Preservation, EPrints-Archivematica Integration

I have now transferred the EPrintsArchivematica repository to eprintsug,

https://github.com/eprintsug/EPrintsArchivematica

It makes sense to continue to refine the spec and manage the implementation at eprintug!

Hi Karl,

Thank you, yes, it would make sense to host the development of this on eprintsug.

For now, we are at the technical specification stage, so we can keep that as is, but we could fork and continue into eprintsug once we begin the implementation?

If you want to discuss, please feel free to send me a follow up.

Hi Tomasz,

What timing - I found a link to the presentation last week and was going to contact you about it Really Soon Now.

Have you considered maintaining it under the eprints user group umbrella?

Thanks,

Karl.

The EPrints-Archivematica integration proposal was presented at Archivematica Camp and OR2018 (https://spectrum.library.concordia.ca/983933/)

I think that an EPrints-Archivematica integration/export plugin could benefit the EPrints community and I hope that we can collaborate on the identification and discussion of issues and the implementation.

I have set up a GitHub repository https://github.com/photomedia/EPrintsArchivematica for this work, and I invite anyone who is currently using EPrints and interested in digital preservation in EPrints through an Archivematica integration to comment in the issues (https://github.com/photomedia/EPrintsArchivematica/issues).

Best wishes,

Tomasz
