You’re right.  It’s where editorial oversight is exercised.  Editors can view these as a collection, check they’re fine, and then make them live.  Sorry, I have no prize for you

Subject: [EP-tech] Status virtual datasets?

Hello all!

I’ve had a question from our databases team, who are currently interrogating EPrints at a database level, regarding the status field in EPrints with the values Archive, Buffer, Deletion and Inbox. In particular they were questioning the buffer status – I said I believe that this represents records that have been submitted but not moved into the live archive yet – am I right? (do I win a prize?)

Thanks in advance!

Andrew
