Hello EPrints Tech colleagues!
Apologies for any cross posting that may occur.
Members of the list may be interested in a new post we have at the University of Glasgow. We are seeking a Digital Library Systems Developer (vacancy number 173412) to join our expanding Digital Library team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to
our new programme of innovation within the digital library, repository, and open research space. The post may suit candidates coming from various technical backgrounds, so please read the detail in the link below — but, to members of this list, it is probably
worth noting that working with EPrints will be a key aspect of the role.
The post holder will be comfortable working in both open-source and proprietary contexts, displaying demonstrable understanding of common web technologies, distributed web-based applications abilities, and experience of LAMP-based environments. Solving data
integration and interoperability issues will be an important aspect of the post, enabling heterogenous content to be better managed, discovered, and reused. Experience of the data standards and protocols associated with digital libraries or digital archives,
the cultural heritage sector, and/or research information systems would therefore be advantageous, as would knowledge of open-source repository solutions.
Further details about the post and how to apply can be found here:
https://www.jobs.gla.ac.uk/job/digital-library-systems-developer. Happy to take informal enquiries!
Thanks!
George
