Re: [EP-tech] Phrase Editor not working

CAUTION: This e-mail originated outside the University of Southampton.
Thanks,  Thomas

I think I am on the latest version, although not at my desk right now. This site is running EPrints 3.4.6 (Creme Brulee Cryoseism) (EPrints Services).

I am familiar with the training video you mention. Indeed, that was what made me realize I had a problem. Editing a phrase like he did then clicking save, the buttons grey out, no confirmation is given and the system just appears to be indefinitely waiting. I can go back a page or refresh the screen, but then the edits are, if course, lost.

Similarly, if I edit the zz_webcfg file, it has no effect and changes do not stick, the file soon reverts to its default state with headers, but no content.

I assume that there is some kind of credentials issue, but I am logged in with the role of Repository Manager, so I imagined I would be able to simply edit phrases.

Hopefully, someone may have come across this issue and know what to suggest!

Best wishes

Will

Hi Will,

depending on your haste or unknown restrictions I suggest one of the following:
- update to the latest version
- familiarise yourself with phrase definition at https://wiki.eprints.org/w/Training_Video:Edit_Phrases
- wait for some help from the community to get you out of your impasse

Good luck
Thomas
