Re: [EP-tech] Tim Miles-Board

Tim gave a demonstration of EPrints to staff at Sunderland on my second day as repository coordinator in 2011.

Whenever I think about repositories, and about open access, I think of him.

 

This is very sad news.

Sad times indeed.

 

Tim was one of the first people I met when I started my EPrints journey.

His clarity of thought and ability to explain the strange world of EPrints was both engaging and inspiring.

 

Tim: in your code, you live on.

Hello everyone,

 

I am sorry to inform you that Tim passed away yesterday morning. He had been very sick and fought bravely, with optimism, until the end.

 

For over 10 years, Tim had made huge contributions to EPrints and open access and it's fair to say that they wouldn't be quite the same without him. He was an inspiration and influence to many of us.

 

I invite you all to raise a glass in his memory,
