kill all the process belonging to the eprints user: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15452081/kill-all-processes-for-a-given-user Il 20/06/2017 12:05, Andrew Beeken ha scritto:
Noooo, I didn't - looking at the eprints3 folder it looks like the remove has taken a lot of the files already including the bin folder so I can't stop it from the command line. I know I can -f remove the user outside of the apt-get remove process to force its removal but I've read that this is bad juju and can leave things in a rickety state. -----Original Message----- From: eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk [mailto:eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Yuri Sent: 20 June 2017 10:57 To: eprints-tech@ecs.soton.ac.uk Subject: Re: [EP-tech] Remove EPrints package did you stop the indexer? Il 20/06/2017 11:09, Andrew Beeken ha scritto:Okay, so instead of keeping coming back and forth with little issues in my new install I think I've managed to compound a few problems with iterative changes. So, I'm going to start a-fresh and try to build things up in a different way, relying less on my old install and more on the changes I've picked up. Problem: I can't get EPrints to uninstall! I've used a2dissite eprints and I'm using apt-get remove eprints, but the process falls over when it tries to remove the eprints user. It's constantly tied into a process - killing the process doesn't seem to do anything as it simply picks up another process and the uninstall won't proceed as it can't delete the user.
