Re: [EP-tech] Eprints-tech Digest, Vol 95, Issue 11

Hi,

I am sure it is checking publication date as we are busy here making a version based on acceptance date as that is what we are working to.

Hi all,

Quick question on the REFCC plugin. In short I've been told the rules for this year (2016/2017) apparently require publications to have been deposited within 3 months of Publication to be eligible (note: I'm discounting embargoes and other complications for the moment). From next year (2017/2018) this changes to require that publications have been deposited within 3 months of Acceptance to be eligible.

Can someone confirm that the plugin is definitively checking the 3 month rule against the publication date this year and not the acceptance date?

Many thanks if someone can advise on this.

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
If you've got the latest release installed, then yes.
This is the block that does the work: https://github.com/eprintsug/hefce_oa/blob/v1.1.0/lib/cfg.d/hefce_oa_tests.pl#L97-L159

The note on line 149 might be useful to ponder too!

Cheers,
John

Thanks John that is exactly what I was hoping for. Can't argue with the code!

Very much appreciated and indeed line 149 is an interesting ponder.

Thanks again
Jonathan
