OK – it does look like a permissions thing.

 

What user does your Apache run as?

Can you run the indexer from the commandline as that user?

 

Are there any indexer files in /usr/share/eprints/var/ - e.g. indexer.log or indexer.tick – and who are they owned by?

 

If you do:

/usr/share/eprints/bin/indexer stop

And then try starting it from the web interface, does it work?

Hello,

The result as follows:

ls -l /usr/share/eprints/perl_lib/EPrints/Update/Views.pm
-rw-rw----. 1 nizam root 55940 Oct 15  2014 /usr/share/eprints/perl_lib/EPrints/Update/Views.pm

However, I found out that I'm able to run the indexer through command and not through web interface.

I'd echo what John asked.  If you can get on the command line, try typing:

        ls -l /usr/share/eprints/perl_lib/EPrints/Update/Views.pm

...and report back exactly what the output is.  It might be that the file isn't there, but it might also be a permissions issue.
