Doing it in Google sheets is fine - I did a number of hacks a few years back using Google Sheets because I didn't have access to a proper development environment where I worked. I'm planning a blog post at the moment so I'll share when it's published! -----Original Message----- From: eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk [mailto:eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Sheppard, Nick Sent: 08 May 2015 09:27 To: eprints-tech@ecs.soton.ac.uk Subject: [EP-tech] Re: Retrieving a list of DOIs Very interested to see that if it gets to a stage you're happy to share! Not being a proper techie I'm just using a script - provided by Euan Adie of altmetric.com - to pull into a Google sheet. That's pretty much what I'm doing. I have a Wordpress powered dashboard app (very experimental, nowhere near production level yet) which uses a number of custom hooks to drag user relevant detail out of ePrints, then grab metrics based on DOI from Altmetric and Scopus. My concern is hitting the API's repeatedly so I'm trying to use a caching function that will run on a cron job to draw data for every DOI into local databases which will then be queried by the core functions instead of the API's. If that makes sense! -----Original Message----- From: eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk [mailto:eprints-tech-bounces@ecs.soton.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Sheppard, Nick Sent: 08 May 2015 09:09 To: eprints-tech@ecs.soton.ac.uk Subject: [EP-tech] Re: Retrieving a list of DOIs Thanks Andrew - for context I'm interested in comparing alternative metrics for OA content for which I need DOIs to run through the altmetric API...might be able to get from the CORE API or from IRUS. Reducing the data it's getting back would be very handy. I've tried the various export options, most don't appear to include DOI, except JSON and then in an odd format that doesn't resolve...
