[EP-tech] Re: Workflow glitch? (3.3.10)

I’ve got as far as the line in EPJS_toggleSlide that seems to be (part of) the issue, now I’m back from a meeting I’m heading into the JQuery getWidth() function as it seems to be mis-reporting (by an extra 11 pixels in my instance) the width of the containing div…

A few more pointers, but not a resolution:

The ‘+’ help button has an ‘onclick’ of:

EPJS_blur(event);

EPJS_toggleSlide('c97_help_publisher',false,'block');

EPJS_toggle('c97_help_publisher_hide',false,'block');

EPJS_toggle('c97_help_publisher_show',true,'block');

return false

The two EPJS_toggle’s swap the plus or minus buttons over, so it’s the EPJS_toggleSlide function that probably has something funny going on.

Firstly: check 3.3.10 with 3.3.13 – to see if there’s been any bug fixes:

https://github.com/eprints/eprints/blob/3.3/lib/static/_javascript_/auto/50_toggle.js (last edited 2008 - nothing new there!).

Secondly:

How good are you with the _javascript_ debugger in e.g. Firebug?

I’d add a breakpoint in auto-3.3.10.js, around line 11509 (in the function EPJS_toggleSlide_aux), and see what any of the width calculations are doing in there…

If that means nothing to you,  maybe an ‘EPrints techie afternoon’ on ‘debugging a GUI’ might be on the cards!

Cheers,

John

Chrome, Firefox and IE all show the same issue – IE is v8, Chrome and FF are mostly up to date versions.

What browser is it in? Have you tried it in anything else?

Hi All,

Has anyone else got / noticed an issue in their workflow, when expanding the field help of an item within a Field::Multi  component, the width of the title section on the left is narrowed by maybe 10 pixels?

It isn’t restored when hiding the help, so repeated toggling eventually causes the titles to wrap.

Cheers,
