[EP-tech] Re: Extracting authors

[I realise I'm not quite answering the question posed, but...]

Hmmm, lookup table you say...

EPrints does have an auto-complete function on the author name field:
cgi/users/lookup/name
Parameters it expects are: _name_family, _name_given and _id.

You may* be able to proxy this to your application?

Cheers,
John

*questions of security are left to the reader to ponder ;o)

Subject: [EP-tech] Extracting authors

Hello all!

I’m currently looking at building applications that sit to the side of Eprints but tap into the data it stores. What I’m hoping to be able to get, possibly via an OAI scrape, is a list of all of the authors stored in the system so that I can create a lookup table in my app – is this straightforward?

Andrew
