[EP-tech] ["saved_search_fieldname_pos" not defined]: How to apply patch from GitHub

Sorry if this is at noob question.

I see the error ["saved_search_fieldname_pos" not defined] on the "Saved searches" page in my repository.

Supposedly it is some legacy code, and there is a patch on GitHub, linked here:
http://t6510.web-eprints-development.seoreport.net/what-is-saved-search-fieldname-pos-t6510.html

However I don't know how to apply this patch, so any help with instructions will be greatly appreciated.

I am running EPrints 3.3.12 on a VPS with Ubuntu Server 10.04.04 LTS (I know I should upgrade, my provider is currently changing).

Thank you in advance!
