Dear Ivana,

Eprints is organized differently from DSpace. It is not configured in terms of “collections” — although it of course can be.

Collections are an obsolete hard-copy library concept. In the digital world it is superseded by metadata tagging. 

If you want to search your repository for only a subset of its contents belonging to a category, tag the items in the category accordingly, and then restrict the search to items that have that tag.

thanks you very much for your replay. Here, in Croatia, we use Eprints only for repository and we don't use it for archives of digital heritage. So, if you have a link for one example of arhives for digital heritage, I will be greatifull.

The primary motivation for creating and maintaining Eprints is for creating institutional repositories that provide open access to institutional peer-reviewed research publications but the software can be (and is being) used also to create archives for digital heritage.
