[EP-tech] idea/intention of subject search on subjects edit stage

What's the result of a search for a special subject on subjects edit stage?
When I hit the search button imho the one and only effect is an erasure of the subject to be searched for ...
Should the appropriate subject branch will be uncollapsed?
What can I expect of my IE running 3.3.11?
