If you mean the default type, look in ~/archives/[ARCHIVEID]/cfg/cfg.d/eprint_fields_default.pl
This sets it to 'article' by default, but can be changed to any of the values in ~/archives/[ARCHIVEID]/cfg/namedsets/eprint

If you only want theses to be allowed, you might want to edit the workflow - and remove the first stage where the user selects the eprint type.

i have installed eprints 3.1.2.1 on my localhost, but how do i change
the type to thesis type ...
