[EP-tech] Re: Pulling research publications from EPrints into a staff profile -- how have others done it?

Hi Alex,

Similar to other replies, at the University of Lincoln we hit up the
following URL for each of our staff profile pages
(*http://staff.lincoln.ac.uk/XXXXXX where "XXXXXX" is the staff ID;
example: http://staff.lincoln.ac.uk/000947 ):

http://eprints.lincoln.ac.uk/cgi/search/advanced/export_lirolem_JSON.js?
screen=Public%3A%3AEPrintSearch&_action_export=1&output=JSON&exp=0%7C1%7
C-date%2Fcreators_name%2Ftitle%7Carchive%7C-%7Ccreators_id%3Acreators_id
%3AALL%3AIN%3AXXXXXX%7C-%7Ceprint_status%3Aeprint_status%3AALL%3AEQ%3Aar
chive%7Cmetadata_visibility%3Ametadata_visibility%3AALL%3AEX%3Ashow

(Again, "XXXXXX" is the staff ID. Outlook will probably break that long
URL.)

The response is json.

We *used* to use the RSS version of that URL + Feed2JS to display the
list, but it now happens on the web server as the page is built (cached
for speed).

Hi,

On our main website, we have a staff directory which includes a page
with a list of publications for each member of academic and research
staff. We would like this page to pull the list of publications from
Eprints. I have suggested that the page could be constructed from a
canned search of eprints, such as
http://eprints.mdx.ac.uk/view/creators/Birchall=3AAlexander_John=3A=3A.h
tml. I'd like to know how others have achieved this goal?
Particularly, which tools were used (XML, RSS, JavaScript, etc).

Many thanks!
