[EP-tech] Re: Eprints being rendered with top of home page black in Internet Explorer but not Firefox

I think it will be the JavaScript - the black bit is the 'preview' background. Not quite sure how to eliminate the JavaScript error, possibly a cregenerate static'? We also had this problem using 3.3.10 and a plugin that added it's own preview function - resulting in two preview layers, only one of which was hidden properly!

Cheers,
John

Subject: [EP-tech] Eprints being rendered with top of home page black in Internet Explorer but not Firefox

Hi,

I have set up the latest version Eprints (3.3.10) on a server internal to our network. The problem is that when I view the home page in IE8, the top half of the page is blacked out. This error is reported:

Errors on this webpage might cause it to work incorrectly.
'eprints_http_root' is undefined, auto.js, line 9732
Object doesn't support this property or method.
Auto-3.3.10.js, line 9854
Code: 0, char: 3
URI: http://10.13.64.110/javascript/auto-3.3.10.js

The same thing happens in SlimBrowser (6.01, build 069), but only when I go to the login page.

Both the home page and the login page render perfectly in Chrome and Firefox.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this most gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Alex
