This should fix the issue:
http://trac.eprints.org/eprints/changeset/7508

It seems in Perl 5.10 'uc' doesn't emit a warning but does in 5.12+.

Set a parameter in cfg.d/plugins.pl:

$c->{plugins}->{"Screen::Import"}->{params}->{show_stderr} = 0;
