Hi, I'm not sure why, but the staff who work on our Eprints repository have suddenly become concerned that if two or more of them happen to be working on the same record at once, they have no way of locking a record to ensure that their edits are not overwritten by someone else's. As far as I know, there is no facility within Eprints for locking a record while you are editing it. I am sure that a database product such as MySQL would cater for multiple users working on the same record, at least so that the system would not freeze or crash, and I told the staff this, but they are not satisfied with that reply. So, my query to the list is -- how does Eprints handle record-locking (presumably the same way MySQL does)?
