“We are immensely proud of our creative arts research repository at UCA, which we’ve developed using EPrints. It provides an engaging, visual showcase of our practice research outputs, as well as metadata and functionality attuned to the arts. UCA pioneered the first specialist arts institutional repository in 2010, and EPrints Services were paramount as part of that journey. We undertook a redesign project in 2022, which was another great success, combining our understanding of art and design with the technical expertise of the EPrints Services team, who were highly professional, conscientious, adaptable, and cost effective.”
Amy Robinson, Digital Curation Manager

“Moving our Digital Repository to EPrints Services’s hosting service has delivered many benefits for UEA. By providing affordable hosting, storage and support, EPrints Services has helped us maintain and develop our green Open Access provision, supporting funder compliance for publications as well as further supporting access to grey literature including theses and working papers. They also provide data to help us better understand the usage of our repository and improve the service. Their understanding of institutional pressures and the broader Open Access landscape as well as expertise with the technology makes them an invaluable partner in our ongoing digital transformation efforts.”
Edmund Chamberlain

“I have worked with EPrints Services on repository systems while at several UK institutions. At University of Glasgow, we operate a large repository portfolio, with several repositories embedded across a wide variety of corporate systems, including University website infrastructure, REF adjacent systems, and so forth. Ensuring service resilience is therefore critical for us. The support of EPrints Services helps to deliver this critical resilience, not only helping us in the management and exposure of our open digital content, but in servicing the wider data requirements of the institution.”
George Macgregor

“Our EPrints support contract with EPrints Services ensures that our repository system provides safe, secure and perpetual access to our staff’s research outputs, compliant with accessibility guidelines. Outsourcing the systems side of our Library’s research support service to EPrints Services in Southampton has been time-saving and effective for us.”
Richard Taylor, Deputy Head of Library Services (Digital & Research)

“At Sheffield Hallam, we have been using the EPrints Service’s repository hosting service since 2008. It works well for us to use the hosting service and also to pay an annual fee for technical support.
During this time the repository has grown and developed. We have found the EPrints system has developed to meet the REF requirements of the UK HE sector e.g. uses the RIOXX metadata, ORCiD identifiers etc, integrates with the Jisc publication router, REF compliance checking tools.
In addition to this, by working with the EPrints Services team we have also been able to undertake a number of local projects and enhancements which required additional support and consultancy work. For example, a retrospective research degree digitisation project, integration with the Symplectic Elements publication management system, the introduction of additional fields to support the introduction of a rights retention policy.
We also created an additional, specialist scope of the repository for an internal department to host reports and most recently have undertaken some development to change the look and feel of the front facing version of the repository.
We feel that the support we have received from EPrints Services has been good, mostly dealing with the same person from start to finish with a ticket and that staff have the appropriate level of expertise. We have also found that technical problems have been handled promptly and any urgent issues dealt with very quickly. Overall, the team at EPrints Services have provided us with the appropriate technical support to enable us to manage and develop the repository over the last 16 years.”
Helen Garner

“We recently migrated our research repository, Doras, to EPrints Services. The team there provides a secure platform for our open access research repository along with a high level of ongoing technical support. They are very responsive to enhancement requests and discussions and have assisted us greatly in redesigning the interface as well as upgrading various other aspects. Their expertise and engagement are critical to our open access services in the University, making EPrints Services a key part of our open research infrastructure.”
